Generally I create pastels in
two sizes: 8x10 and 11x14. The finished portraits are framed in a
soft white mat. I feel the white mat sets off the I typically work from photographs. Photos can be emailed or sent to me. I try and create a portrait that looks very close to the photograph, but can also create one that is more impressionistic. One of the nicest aspects of having a portrait done is I can change the background, foreground, clothing or any other feature of the picture. For example, one of my clients had a lovely picture of her dog who had passed away. The dog was sitting on the floor of their family room. For the portrait, I placed the dog on a green lawn with a blue sky. Pricing for a custom portrait begins at $100 and up depending on the number of subjects and changes from the original photograph. A deposit of 25% is required upon agreement of the portrait to be done. An order form is provided that both the client and I sign. The work is guaranteed and I am happy to make revisions until you are totally satisfied. I try and meet the timeframe you need for the portrait to be completed. Generally, a turnaround time of 2-4 weeks is needed. Please take a look at the samples of portraits I have done and at my letters of reference section.
